Plant Medicine Consultation – $200

In order to sustain the Community Apothecary, I sell products online and in retail stores, mix magical potions and herbal cocktails for private events I also offer private health consultations and astrology readings.

If you are interested in working with me, I generally ask that we begin with an intake and herbal consultation. Those that are inclined to astrology may opt to have the focus of this first session be a natal chart reading.

The initial consultation is $200, and is scheduled after booking. Sessions are generally done via Skype or by phone, and in person consultation is subject to availability. Additional consultation and services are available for different rates. I also offer everything sliding scale, so if you would like a consultation but feel the price is cost prohibitive, please contact me directly so that we can negotiate something that will work for both of us.

What is Frankincense?

Frankincense is an aromatic resin cultivated from trees of the genus Boswellia. For thousands of years, physicians and healers from various and diverse cultures have recognized its powerful impact on the health and wellness of their patients. In ancient Egypt frankincense was considered an essential component in a variety of treatments. Its use in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda are also well known. Frankincense has been employed continuously since ancient times, and today practitioners of western medicine are beginning to take an interest in its medicinal capabilities. As a result the popularity of frankincense as both a treatment and a preventative has increased in recent years.

Frankincense has long had a role in the management of inflammatory and degenerative conditions like asthma, IBS, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. It is reported to help regulate hormones and to aid in the treatment of various cancers. Cancers of the brain, stomach, breast, bladder, cervix, and prostate are said to respond particularly well to its consistent use. The more recent use of frankincense in cancer treatment builds upon its already well-know reputation as a powerful calming agent andrelaxation aid. Research indicates that frankincense has a positive effect on thecentral nervous system, so it is naturally of interest to those seeking relief fromanxiety, insomnia, depression, and various neurological disorders. In addition, many practitioners suggest the use of frankincense for its much-appreciated role as anaphrodisiac and circulatory tonic. For women it is said to increase libido, enhance fertility, regulate the menstrual cycle, and relieve menstrual cramps. Men may employ frankincense to treat impotence, and some men who have done so report a welcome secondary effect: increased penile length and girth.

The aforementioned benefits of frankincense resin are not merely claims. They are validated both by its widespread use over time and by empirical studies and trials. Western medicine has studied tree resins of the genus Boswellia (i.e. frankincense) in various forms, from essential oils to alcohol extracts, each administered in different dosages by various delivery methods. See below for reference to several of these peer-reviewed studies.

Adonito’s Milk of Frankincense

Adonito’s Milk of Frankincense is a very pure and particularly potent extract of resin. It contains the full spectrum of active compounds necessary to achieve the best possible outcomes in a wide range of applications.

Adonito’s Milk of Frankincense is formulated for use as a daily supplement, and as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle. It was created by herbalist Adonito Flores, with the goal of bottling the extract in its purest organic form: safe, potent, and effective. Since it is a resin it is particularly difficult for individual users to create at home, and formulating frankincense in a manner that is both palatable and easily digestible is a challenge. There are important safety and environmental considerations as well.

Frankincense is a precious natural resource of great value, and sadly the improper and/or overzealous harvesting of the resin can damage the trees from which it is derived. For this reason the resins used in Adonito’s Milk of Frankincense are sourced exclusively from the herbalists of the Betwa forest in India. These herbalists are committed to sustainability and good stewardship of the land. Extracting and formulating the Milk involves a pure and simple process, with only organic corn alcohol (a variety never stored in plastic); a 100% stainless steal still; and glass bottling: no chemicals, and no impurities.

Below you will find a brief overview of the ways in which Frankincense resin has been used for medicinal purposes in various cultural and ethnic traditions, along with recommendations for its synergies with other sacred plants.
